It's Hump Day
Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is a great day to review the goals and plans you had for this week (hopefully you jotted them down somewhere—and can find them) and see how you’re doing on them.
Happy new year!
Today is the last day of 2009. What a quick year, it flew by! 2010 is a year of planning with a purpose for me. I’ve always been good at goal setting. But until this year, I wasn’t even sure what my business goals were, other than to help as many people simplify their lives as I could. I absolutely love helping people in this area.
Planning will get you places
I’ve been spending alot of time working on next year’s budget, marketing strategies and business plan. To be honest, it’s a lot of work. Most of my fellow small business owners are doing the same thing.
You can reach your goals
Getting organized is a very detailed process that can be accomplished very simply if you have the ability to break things down into manageable chunks, and not look at the big picture.
Weekend Project
What little area in your home or office is so disorganized that it’s really creating havoc in your life? Why not tackle it this weekend? Here are some little projects you should be able to complete in 3 hours or less. And by taking the time now to tackle those areas, it will save you time and stress in the future.
I've got a secret....
I have been working really hard this last year to overcome my fear of public speaking. Part of being a professional organizer, and a successful business owner, is giving presentations on organizing. I have had to turn down so many great opportunities to speak to groups because of this fear. Since I seem to be a goal driven person, I do not let the fear stop me (though it has definitely slowed me down). I just look at it as a step that I must take in order to get to the goal of being a successful business owner.
Put it on paper
Goal setting is very important. And putting your goals down on paper can’t be stressed enough. Until you take the time to MAP out your goals, they won’t become a reality. Because we are creatures of nature, we normally spend our days doing the same things over and over. Once our goals are written down, and then broken down into manageable steps, we can begin to take action on them.
